This article gives us no pleasure to write about. It involves domestic abuse, assault and battery and then finally murder and aggravated murder. These types of cases seem to pop up all over the entire world today and seems to be happening more and more frequently. Regardless, when it does happen, someone loses A loved one, someone is A definite victim. I hope in this case, the victim involved is remembered for the way she was and the things she stood for.

Apparently from sustained injuries and having to have surgery, then about 18 days later, the police were once again called or dispatched to the residence Finding Wertz gasping for air in her bed, a Boyertown police officer and then paramedics performed CPR and rushed her to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where she died March 29.

According to arrest records, Scott K Wiley, was listed as being the reason for the death, because of A personal alleged assault just days prior. Subsequent to M.R Wiley being arrested, he was booked and charged and arrested with simple assault and harassment. He was released from police custody March 12 after posting $2,500 bail.

During Wiley’s arrest of simple assault, just two weeks later after the said selected surgery ,emergency medical responders were again called to the East Third Street home. And this time, they found Wertz lying in a bed “gasping for air,”  not being able to breathe.

Based on the autopsy findings and a physical examination of the victim, he concluded Wertz died as a result of a “pulmonary embolism due to deep vein thrombosis complications from blunt force trauma to the right lower extremity,” more commonly known as a blood clot. This finding, eventually led police to charge Scott Wiley with Murder. Where he is being held without bail in Berks County jail.

Wertz, died later at an area hospital.

Wiley, of Easton, faces criminal charges of murder of the third degree, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and simple assault, investigators said.

Scott Wiley, was also said to have thrown his girlfriends autistic son to the ground and scratching the boys chest.
