Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at 4:21 p.m. Wednesday afternoon on Lake Shore Drive at the intersection of Lake View Drive.
Colin Jones, 21, was operating a 2006 Yamaha R6 motorcycle when a 1999 Ford F-250 with a drop in camper driven by Laureat Labranche, 67, of Thetford Mines, Quebec, attempted to make a left turn onto Lake View Drive, police said.
Jones struck the passenger side of the truck and was transported to Albany Medical Center via helicopter where he died, police said.
Labranche was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way and no further charges are expected. Labranche and his passenger Ginette Rodrigue, 64, also of Thetford Mines, Quebec, were uninjured in the crash, police said.
The investigation is being conducted by members of Warren County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit with the assistance of the Criminal Investigators Unit.
Lake George Fire Department and Lake George Emergency Squad responded to the scene.
Hello, I am the founder of the South Glens Falls Paranormal Society. I just came across this post from last August and just want to thank you for writing this. Colin was an amazing friend and investigator and he is missed every day. Investigations aren’t the same without him but we know he will always be with us. Thank you again.
