Being as I am a new writer and not to experienced, we have seen some mistakes, but even though this happens, the blog is seeing record amounts of hits. We as a group are proud of this.
It is certainly easy to remain on a negative path, with all we have seen of recent, inside the paranormal world and around the internets social pages and sites. Some of us may be familiar with.
The debate as to whether the Internet is good or bad for literature doesn’t seem any closer to resolution now than when it began, years ago, but the fact remains that some people in the literary world are excellent at using Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, and even Instagram or Pinterest to communicate with readers and get people interested in what they’re writing. These aren’t the writers who have hundreds of thousands of Twitter followers but only tweet when they have a book come out, or the ones who write a guest blog post every year to get their names back into the conversation. This is exactly why (I) have once again placed our books on hold, in hopes that we can maintain a good source for the public, that it would seem is once again reading our periodicals and articles.
It is my job, as a blogger/writer to read the Internet, and that makes me weird.Writers are caught between the commercial instinct to maximize attention to articles that they’ve spent lots of time writing and the aesthetic instinct to not hate every fiber of their very being after they write the headline and press the publish button. (I’m using web-specific jargon here, but that’s not to discount the probability that this tension predates the Internet.)
Back to The Paranormal Herald: The paranormal Herald was established to report all things paranormal. This must mean then, that sometimes there will be challenges or issues, that should be addressed. After all it is a paranormal magazine, for news, for all things associated inside the para community. This is exactly why this article is being written today. We do not want folks to think that the Herald is some thrasher, cult like article appetizer.
